To celebrate Black History Month in February, the Northeast Ohio Medical University chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) collaborated with NEOMED’s Black Students Association to highlight an inspiring person each a day throughout the month. Photos and stories of these leaders and their achievements are being shown on monitors around campus.

Patricia Bath, M.D., was the first black female physician awarded a patent for a medical invention.
